I still remember the early days of the Internet and how exciting (and expensive!) It was to be operated. Since it was a dial-up modem connection, my parents set up strict time restrictions on how much time I could spend online (my goodness, that felt a little old).
Since then, things have changed enormously and the Internet has become so accessible that even people in the most distant areas use it. So it is not surprising that it became a massive marketing channel.
Internet marketing offers unique advantages that other marketing media (ie, television, printing) cannot offer range, the option of personalizing content, and the opportunity to build up far-reaching relationships with customers that are only a few.
There are ten digital channels, including e -mail, social media, websites and search engines to reach their ideal audience. In this article, I will cover everything from marketing strategies to examples in the real world to ensure that your company reaches the right people.
Table of contents
What is internet/online marketing?
Online marketing, also referred to as Internet marketing or weaving, is a form of marketing that uses the Internet to transmit customers via digital channels such as search engines, e -mails, websites and social media. Online marketing strategies include web design, SEO, email, social media, PPC and other internet-related methods.
Types of internet marketing
1. SEO marketing
Search engine optimization or SEO, helps companies expand their visibility in the organic search results. Good SEO essentially ensures that someone who googles your product or service will find your website in the search results.
For example, if I “Drift Kings Media” Google, it is displayed in the search results right after the sponsored articles. Brand terms are much easier to evaluate compared to other terms such as “Best CRM”.
2. Social media marketing
With 5.17 Billions of social media users If you don’t use it for marketing, you miss it worldwide. No matter who your target group is, you can probably find it on Tikok, Instagram, Facebook, X or another platform.
Depending on your marketing goals and your budget, you can choose:
- Organic. With organic social media marketing, you can use free marketing options such as creating posts and roles on Instagram.
- Paid. With paid advertising on social media, you can create advertised contributions that are aimed at a specific target group.
Many brands (and individuals) turn to LinkedIn in order not only to show their specialist knowledge, but also to build connections to their followers. For example, Ben GoodeyThe founder of an SEO agency Spicy margarita (With whom I am a big fan) has impressive commitment. Look at how many likes and comments he got!
3 .. Content marketing
Content marketing includes the creation and distribution of branded content with which you can include and attract both potential and existing customers. This can include social media, a corporate blog, training materials, video content, case studies or other industry -related topics.
Blogging is definitely one of my favorites. It offers companies a great opportunity to exchange unique knowledge and to present their personality-especially now that the Internet is flooded with generic, qualitatively inferior content of AI.
Here is an example of Drift Kings Media. It has many experts tips that give the piece of credibility.
The CMO at tifted.coPresent Elad Maoztold me that content marketing has proven a very helpful tactic for you.
“By creating high -quality, public -centered content, we have built up trust and commitment with our target market. A strategy that we have implemented was a blog series about creative Gibing ideas, paired with video tutorials for creating personalized gift packages. We distributed this content via e -mail campaigns and social media ads, ”says Maoz.
The blog series achieved an increase in the website by 35% and increased the commitment rates in social media over two months.
“Content marketing works because it positions your brand as a helpful resource, promotes loyalty and encourages users to share their content and to increase their reach organically,” he adds.
4. E -Mail marketing
E -Mail Marketing is the process with which you can address your target group and customers via e -mail. It helps you to increase conversions and income by providing subscribers and customers with valuable information in order to achieve your goals.
If customers share your e -mail with your brand, you can use it to:
- Send new customers welcome e -mails.
- Apply new blog content.
- Introduce new products or services.
- Send advertising campaigns and discounts.
- Request customers about their experience with their brand.
- Send abandoned cart notifications to increase sales.
You may be wondering whether it is still worth investing in e -mail marketing (especially since there are so many social media platforms on which you can publish). My short answer is – absolutely. Some of the most popular newsletters in the world see subscribers in the seven -digit range. For example, The Pulse, one of the flagship newsletters of the New York Times, exceeded 2.4 million subscribers in 2024.
The more your product niches, the fewer subscribers you will strive for. However, this example shows that e -mail marketing can still achieve outstanding success.
5. Pay-per-click-marketing
Pay-per-click or PPC is a form of advertising that you can use to pay a fee to have your website on the search engine results (SERP) if someone enters certain keywords or phrases in the search engine.
The SERP shows the ads you have created to guide visitors to your website, and the fee you pay is based on whether people click on your ad.
For example, you will find some PPC ads that were released in Google when I searched the expression “newsletter tool”. Observe the “sponsored” tags and how these types of ads often all include all parts taken over over the folding of the page.
6. Influencer marketing
Influencer marketing uses popular niche content to improve brand awareness, increase traffic and aim to aim the audience of a brand.
You can use influencers across several channels, including social media, blogs, digital and print ads and television. It is an effective marketing Avenue because it uses word of mouth and social evidence that are now critical aspects of every successful marketing strategy.
One of my most popular influencer marketing examples is Skin exposedAn Instagram profile that was carried out by Piotr Janicki MDfocus on the health and well -being of the skin. He has a committed audience of spectators who not only turn for product recommendations, but also honest reviews and tips.
He is also known to inform about the risks of myths and misleading product advertising. For further knowledge of these topics, he is leading readers to his blog and YouTube channel. This enables him to build an even more committed community.
7. Affiliate marketing
Affiliate marketing is a performance-oriented marketing tactic, in which a retailer, usually an online retailer, rewards a website with a commission for every customer who is referred to the website’s advertising activities.
The “partner or the website” is only paid if the promotion of your product leads to a sale. This method is similar to influencer marketing, but the salary structure is different.
For example, Drift Kings Media partner program Offers a 30% recurring commission for every customer, which refers to a partner.
What role does the Internet marketing play?
Simply put, the role of the Internet marketing is to help your business to achieve, attract and convert online target groups.
Acquire skills Digital marketing courses Can be an essential step to master the methods required to achieve these goals.
Let us immerse yourself in two separate goals that you have with Internet marketing, as well as the necessary methods you want to take with you to achieve these goals.
Goal 1: Internet marketing to attract new customers
96% of buyers use the Internet for research before making buying decisions. It is therefore important that your brand can be discovered online (and how it is perceived).
There are many tactics that you can use as follows:
- PHelp social media ads. Which channels you choose largely depends on whether you are in B2B or B2C. I once worked for a company that offered a digital product for customers of business-to-business customers. Therefore, our marketing team assumed that the management of LinkedIn displays would bring the highest ROI. We also carried out paid campaigns on Facebook. To our surprise, the latter channel turned out to be the most effective and brought the best quality actors at the best price.
- SEO. The optimization of your website for certain keywords increases your chances of being discovered by potential customers. Simply make sure that your content offers your target group alongside SEO -optimized value.
- Partnership with influencers. In order for this to work, you have to carry out some preliminary research. Ask yourself: “What types of accounts do my ideal customer follow?” Research influencer (whether on social media, YouTube or both) in their niche.
Pro tip: Before you reach an influencer with a couts proposal, I strongly recommend checking whether you have a high level of commitment to your contributions and videos.
This is even more important than the number of followers (the classic case of “quality about quantity”). How can these people help you to promote your brand?
There are many ways to share as simple as sharing pictures of your products, to the record of a video that adds a discount code for the influencer community “before/after”.
- Website design. Although the website design does not attract new customers per se, this has an impact on how your brand is perceived. If the design is chunky, information is difficult to find and the website is slow, visitors can stop visitor to explore your website, and it will certainly not lead to a conversion.
Goal 2: Internet marketing to cultivate brand loyalty
Internet marketing is attracted to more than “just” new customers-it is also crucial to transform them into long-term customers. You can use the channels mentioned above and some others, but use different tactics.
Here are some methods that I recommend trying to try:
- E -mail marketing. This is a fairly broad category. It covers both extensive campaigns, such as the information of all customers, by selling cross-site and personalized messages for individual customers.
One of my favorite examples for the latter is to send a Happy Birthday message together with a special discount code that can be redeemed within one month or something.
In the case of such a tactic under pressure, do not put your customers under pressure while the promo code takes and give them the opportunity to receive their favorite product or their preferred service at a special price.
Pro tip: To use the advantages of e -mail marketing, you must of course create an e -mail list and set up properly. Here you can find out how to create an e -mail list from scratch.
- Social media. You may use social media to present the personality of your brand and hear them directly from your customers. Consider host X, publish polls on Instagram or to create funny competitions on Facebook.
Always respond to every comment that your customers or potential customers post – especially negative. If you don’t feel that you have the bandwidth to create all social media content internally WaitingShe sends you convincing, curated content that you can share with your audience for increased commitment.
- Loyalty programs. According to EmarsysThe use of the loyalty program increased by 28%in 2024. In view of the fact that customers love personalized rewards and incentives, this is not surprising. However, I have to say that you shouldn’t create a program unless you can really offer attractive offers gradually.
If you are looking for inspiration, I recommend checking the loyalty program for wellness brand Ritual. I have every two or three months shopping there for about a year.
When I visited a stationary place for the first time, I was asked if I wanted to register as a member to which I agreed. Every time I have my favorite items in store, I am either surprised with an giveaway (such as hand cream) or a discount.
Only the other day did I get a discount of $ 5 when checking out – a pretty nice gesture if you ask me!
Internet marketing vs. Content marketing
Content marketing and internet marketing are incredibly similar strategies with which leads and perspectives are attracted to your website and ultimately convert web traffic into customers. However, there are some minor differences between the two.
Content marketing lives under the roof of online/internet marketing -What does online/internet marketing mean the broad, overarching strategy, and content marketing is a process within this strategy.

While most strategies that fall under online marketing have to do with the creation of content, online marketing also affects the tasks of internet marketing without the content of the creation of PPC or website design.

14. Use Pay-Pers-Click advertising (PPC).
Pay-per-click advertising or PPC is an advertising model in which advertisers only pay if someone interacts with their advertisement by impressions or clicks.
PPC is most frequently used in search engines and can help your company appear for search queries in connection with your products or services. This is particularly important for more competitive keywords if it is difficult to manage on page 1 against websites with a higher domain authority.
Cache MerrillFounder of ZibtekI told me that the company was very successful to carry out retargeting campaigns by PPC campaigns for social media and search engines. You used it to apply for a free downloadable guide for best practices of software development.
“By promoting the guideline by these types of ads, we attracted thousands of leads. Then we used remarketing ads to engage users again who initially do not convert. “Merrill said this PPC campaign increased the conversions by 40% and lowered the costs of Zibtek per lead by 25%.
It is important to note that PPC does not replace its SEO strategy: it simply complements it.
For example, if you try to maneuver for “Website Builder”, you can see that Keywords’s difficulty is “Super Hard (95)”, according to Ahref’s. However, there are some keywords with a long form for which you may have success ranking, including “What is a website builder? (52) “or” Best website builders for E -Commerce (57). “
If you want to address on “Website builders”, you would like to offer for an advertisement and use PPC to stand out against competitors.
15. Optimize your website for conversions.
Okay, you got readers on your blog or homepage … what now?
Ultimately, you would like to invest in resources for the conversion rate (CRO). If you do not do this, you risk not convert any of your traffic into qualified leads and ultimately customers.
There are four areas of your website that can benefit from Cro: the homepage, the price page, the blogs and the landing pages.
In a blog, a cro strategy could add to relevant action calls throughout the text or the invitation of the reader to submit their emails in exchange for an e-book. On a price side, a cro strategy can contain a slip that invites the viewers to book the time with a sales employee or to see a demo.
The optimization of your website for conversions is a critical component of a strong Internet marketing strategy.

Finally, take a look at our essential step-by-step guide for Internet marketing in order to immerse yourself in the six significant steps of internet marketing.
How to make online marketing
- Use your high-quality internet marketing content over several channels.

- Publish online press releases.
- Cultivers paid social media campaigns.

- Work with microphluencers to reach a new audience.
There are many different methods of online marketing that you can try to increase the commitment to your brand. Here are ten that I recommend.
1. To convert your high-quality internet marketing content over several channels.
As I already said, the circulation of your content simply means the reuse of content that you already have in a new format. The reaction video that you created on Tikkok could be implemented as a role on Instagram. If you change the caption to roles, you can use the video to react to something else.
2. Lean in permanent content on social media that have no time limit.
Examples of permanent social media content are X contributions, YouTube videos and TikTok videos. Content like Instagram stories are not permanent and disappear after a certain time.
3. Select the correct keywords and optimize your website for the search.
The use of keywords helps search engines, especially Google, categorize your content and ensure that you reach the right target group. It also helps your target group to find your website and your services.
To optimize your website with the right keywords, use applications such as Ahrefs with which you can find the right keywords that your target group is looking for.
4. Create a mobile optimized website.
There are many ways to better optimize your website for mobile users, e.g. B. the compression of images to shorten the loading time of the pages, assign your customers’ trip or create a mobile app.
5. Publish blog posts regularly.
Blogging has many advantages. It keeps your website up to date with fresh content and keeps your audience’s interest. This is also an effective way to bring your website on the first page of search engines. The more you publish, the more content you will have the search engine.
6. Perform e -mail marketing campaigns.
In our most recent survey on the prediction of marketing trends, we found that e -mail marketing is still a helpful approach to marketing your business online. According to our survey, the three most effective E -Mail marketing strategies are subscription to Subscribe, news personization and e -mail -TeVotomation campaigns.
7. Promotion of conversations on social media accounts.
Social media is the place where connections are made and conversations take place. Social media users not only want to interact with brands, but also want to see humanity behind the big name and the logo.
A good way to make meaningful connections to the people from whom their audience consists of facilitating conversations.
8. Publish online press releases.
9. Cultivers paid social media campaigns.
The idea of paying for advertising may seem a bit discouraging, but paid social media advertising is one of the cheapest types of advertising. Paid social media ads can start with a few platforms with a dollar thanks to the bidder model and the lottery system to transfer advertisements to the news feeds and pearines of the users.
Platforms that enable paid advertisements are:
10. Use Pay-Pers-Click advertising for competitive keywords.
Pay-per-click advertising (PPC) and SEO go hand in hand like peanut butter and jelly. The optimization of your website for keywords can definitely help your brand to display the search engine results pages.
However, it requires patience, and you may not see any results for weeks or months if you optimize very competitive words.
However, by using PPC, you can take off from competitors by offering for an advertisement.
11. Publish videos on YouTube or other social channels.
YouTube is that second largest Search engine on the Internet, with the United States for their Second largest audience in the world (with 238 million users). So you can bet that your potential customers and customers often visit the website.
When creating content for YouTube, make sure that you diversify your content to attract the audience, prefer the video to text. You would also like to research for keywords for which you can optimize your content and use in the title, description and day of your video.
12. Work with microphluencers to reach a new audience.
With apps like Tikkok, brands still have difficulty finding their place. However, influencer marketing has proven to be a helpful instrument to help brands to improve their online presence and find their target group.
Companies see the greatest success with smaller niche influencers. Actually, 47% of the marketers report Positive results from micro-influencer partnerships.
These influencers offer access to highly committed, loyal audience at cheaper costs.
Maris Laatrethe CMO at Moby Maxfinds this tactic particularly effective. She said that they had put together a partnership with a popular dog trainer and pet influence, who informed their positive experiences with Bully Max’s products.
“As a result, our website rose by 20% and we recorded an increase in product sales by 13% within a few weeks. Influencer marketing humanized our brand and connects us directly to dog owners. It creates a greater commitment and builds on permanent relationships with our audience, ”says Laatre.
Online marketing examples
There are hundreds, if not thousands of online marketing examples to inspire their next Internet marketing campaign.
Here I will immerse yourself in real examples of social media, e -mail, SEO and website marketing methods. I will also insert links to additional blog resources below to get even more extraordinary ideas.
1. Social media: #Thefaceof10 from Dove
In 2024, Dove started an educational campaign to raise awareness of social pressure that young girls looked like to a certain way. In the campaign, the worrying trend of young girls was emphasized, the multi -stage skin care routines in order to maintain youthfulness and glow.
To combat this, Dove invited numerous influencers, dermatologists and academic experts to promote a healthier self -image of the young people, with even Barrymore supporting the initiative.
The campaign mainly focused on social media, especially on Tikkok, where influencer videos shared, which showed what the face of a child should look like – bright and playful, with colorful colors, glitter and stickers, not with retinol.
A TIKTOK video by Drew Barrymore Puting Glitter on her face was liked by 27K and received 396 comments – quite impressive!
2. Social media: Patagonia’s campaign “Buy less”
One of the wildest campaigns I saw in 2024 was one of Outdoor Wear and Gear brand Patagonia. The company, which has always communicated its commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness, decided to start a number of Instagram and YouTube videos and posts with the #Wornwear Day.
The message that Patagonia wanted to convey was that not every piece of wear was thrown into the garbage container. Instead, they wanted to spread awareness of how they take care of their favorite clothing for their favorite clothing (and when it comes to move).
For this purpose, they teamed up with athletes, activists, farmers and other practical Patagonia customers who shared their stories and how the company’s clothing accompanied them in their daily life.
Each of the videos published on YouTube received hundreds of thousands of spectators, some even exceeded 1 m.
I personally think that this campaign is more than “only” an example of how you can advertise your brand online for the right customer.
As early as 2023, Patagonia was accused of producing her clothing in the same places as Fast-Fashion brands, so that it is also a good case study how a brand can recover from a reputation crisis.
3. E -Mail: Expedia
Companies often use email marketing to get former customers again, but a “where are they going? Do you want to buy that? “The message can look aggressive and you want to be careful with your wording to maintain a long-term email subscribers.
For this reason, Expedia’s New Year’s Re-Mail works so well-sie, to get to the point by mentioning his “big January sale” in the email slogan and at the same time an old email -Subscribers (and customers) reminds that they could possibly be you would like to see some of the reduced offers for trips far into the following autumn.
4. SEO & expert -powered content: database
Databox was one of the pioneers of experienced content. They have been creating at least expert roundups since 2018 when I regularly submitted answers to their article roundups.
They created SEO items that are filled with tips and advice from experts – the following screen is an example of a piece in which 45 experts shared their overview of a topic.
With this type of Internet marketing content, there are at least two advantages.
First, they like search engines that now prioritize unique articles that share experiences first -hand. Second, you can also ask you to share the piece about your social profiles to expand your organic reach.
This is the type of approach that I use when writing content.
5. Web design: accessible
Accessiblean information provider for people with disabilities in Great Britain and Ireland, Agentur51 Implementing an SEO migration strategy to move access to a new one from an old platform.
By using 301 forwarding to old URLs, the transfer of metadata, setting up Google Webmaster tools and creating a new Sitemap, agency 51 was successfully transferred to a new platform and at the same time maintained its previous SEO performance kept alive.
In addition, they were able to increase the number of visitors by 21% compared to the previous year, and the restructuring of the website made it possible to enable a higher rank than competitors. Her Case study is available on SingleGrain.com.

The best strategies for Internet marketing contents give added value
As you can see from this article, there are a lot of strategies for Internet marketing content to choose from. Of course, you should not intend to use all.
In my experience, it is best to concentrate on those who are best suited for your company, the industry in which you are in, and – ultimately – what your customers are best responding to.
This requires a lot of experiments, but will be worth the effort. Regardless of the tactics you choose, just make sure that you offer added value not only for your company, but also for your target group.
