My practical test of this WooCommerce theme

My practical test of this WooCommerce theme

Building eCommerce websites has always felt like an uphill battle for me.

Every theme I tried was way too heavy for real use. The result was that my websites became crawling like snails, which resulted in customers leaving the website immediately.

The user experience was completely destroyed by bloated code.

See, I love minimalist approaches to websites. The clean designs offer real class and position companies as high-end.

I also needed a website that worked well on mobile and desktop. After all, today’s shoppers are far more likely to purchase on cell phones than on computers. With this in mind, the mobile experience can literally make or break your sales.

That’s exactly why I started using the free version of Botiga!

The reviews were great and promised lightning-fast performance. After testing Botiga for free, I upgraded to Pro to see everything this theme really offers.

After weeks of intensive testing and building real businesses, I’m ready to share everything I’ve learned through this Botiga theme review.

Key Takeaways:

  • Lightning-fast loading speeds – beats expensive competitors
  • Beginner-friendly setup process – RAM in just a few minutes
  • The mobile shopping experience wins – Customers actually shop over the phone
  • Real conversion tools included – Quick view and smart search
  • Honest value for money – The free version meets most requirements
  • Perfect for minimalist shops – Clear design sells more

How I test WordPress themes for real shops

I don’t just install themes and take screenshots like most reviewers. I build working stores with real products and test everything.

My testing process will help you see exactly what you’re getting.

Expand to see my testing process:
  • Create a real online store: While test sites usually work well, I use real sites to actually see how a topic performs under pressure. This way I get a better first hand experience.
  • Test environment: I used WordPress 6.8 on Bluehost with standard shared plans. I test on various mobile devices and several desktop browsers. This is in line with what most beginners actually use for their businesses.
  • Evaluation criteria: I Run GTmetrix speed tests daily from multiple locations. I then test the mobile shopping experience by actually making purchases. Additionally, I calculate how long customization tasks take for beginners.
  • Test duration: I spent three full weeks setting up different store types. Week one was set up and basic adjustments made. The second week focused on advanced features and performance optimization. Finally, in the third week there were real customer tests and conversion tracking.
  • Comparison baseline: I created identical stores using Thrive Theme Builder, SeedProd and Astra. This gives you honest comparisons instead of guesswork. I tracked which themes actually convert browsers into buyers.

Botiga Review: Here is everything I learned about this eCommerce theme

Now that you understand my review process, let’s dive into the review. I’ve broken it down into easy-to-understand sections so you can quickly go through the review.

Additionally, if you would like to read a specific section, just click on the links below.

With that out of the way, let’s get started.

Botiga overview – What you actually get

Botiga homepage

Botiga is a WooCommerce specialized WordPress theme designed specifically for online stores. The developers at aTopics I created it with one goal in mind.

Build eCommerce websites that actually convert visitors into paying customers.

But on the other hand, Botiga still has solid blogging features, making it a versatile theme. But remember, you don’t get a jack-of-all-trades theme that does everything poorly.

Instead, you get targeted tools for selling products online while building authority through content marketing that leads to more sales.

Botiga is designed for beginners in shopfitting and small business owners. Therefore, you don’t need any programming knowledge or design experience.

His true strength lies in performance!

Botiga consistently achieves excellent performance scores when it comes to speed testing tools. In addition to performance, it also offers practicality.

The conversion-focused design includes a product quick view and Ajax search functionality. These tools actually help convert browsers into buyers within minutes.

Plus, this WordPress theme works seamlessly with all modern web browsers. So you don’t need any special hosting requirements or expensive plugins.

Installation and initial setup

Installing Botiga felt like Christmas morning after wrestling with complicated issues. The entire process took about 5 minutes from download to live broadcast.

This is exactly what happens when you start from scratch.

As mentioned, Botiga offers both a free theme and a premium version. Getting the free version of Botiga is very easy. You simply follow the same steps as any other free eCommerce theme.

All you have to do is Download Botiga from WordPress.org. Or go to Appearance » Themes » Add New. Then use the search function to find the topic. Finally, install and activate it. That’s it.

Install Botiga for free

But as mentioned, for this review we’re using the Pro version of Botiga to show you everything it can do.

The Pro version works differently than most premium themes you may know.

Botiga Pro is actually a WordPress plugin that extends the free Botiga theme. Therefore, you cannot use Botiga Pro without the free version already installed.

First you need to receive your Botiga Pro plugin file from your purchase receipt email or download it from your aThemes account page if necessary.

Important NOTE:

In my experience, you should not activate the free Botiga theme first if you want to set up the pro version. This can cause your website to crash.

Instead, install the Botiga plugin and let us guide you through the theme setup.

After that, install it like any other plugin. If you run into any problems, check out my tutorial on installing plugins here.

Next go to Plugins » Add new in your WordPress dashboard. Then select the “Upload Plugin” button at the top of the page and upload your Botiga Pro plugin directly.

When you’re done, click “Install Now” and then activate the plugin immediately.

After the plugin is activated, you will see the message “Welcome to Botiga” at the top. This prompt will automatically handle the installation of the free Botiga theme and Starter Sites plugin.

To set it up, click Start building your website and let it do the work.

botiga starts building your website

The final step is to activate your license key so you can access all premium features.

So copy your license key from your purchase email or account page. Then navigate to the new Botiga menu in your dashboard and click Settings.

Finally, paste your license key and click “Activate” to complete the setup.

Botiga Pro License Key Activation

Installing the free or pro version of Botiga takes less than 5 minutes. And after that you can customize and use it. Let’s discuss this next.

Customization and ease of use

Now, like many top themes, Botiga ensures that setup and customization is super easy after the initial installation.

And Botiga is great at helping you jump-start this process by offering demo content.

But it doesn’t just offer plain old demo content; It offers starter sites. The good thing is that aThemes Starter Sites installs automatically during your first setup.

So get instant access to professional demo content that looks great just by clicking Botiga » Starter Sites directly in your WordPress dashboard.

Here you can search for available starter sites and preview them before importing. Once you’ve made your choice, click import.

Botiga Pro Starter Pages

After that, you can easily choose your preferred page builder between Gutenberg and Elementor versions. Remember that you can also use a page builder of your choice later as Botiga works with most popular page builders.

You can then also choose which content elements you want to import from the starter sites into your site. The system handles the installation automatically and imports everything seamlessly and without errors.

For example, the process included automatic intelligent plugin recommendations like Contact Form 7. After that, I watched my blank WordPress site transform into a professional shop.

Import the Botiga Pro Starter site

As you can see, the demo import with full content takes a total of 10 to 15 minutes. The color and logo adjustment then takes around 30 to 60 minutes.

In the end, setting up a complete store with products takes 2 to 4 hours.

Let’s look at some other customization options you get with this WooCommerce theme.

Complete the connection with the WordPress Customizer

I spent hours testing every customization option available to users. I can say with certainty that you get over 100 customization options organized into logical, easy-to-understand modules.

The first thing I noticed was that the WordPress Customizer experience in Botiga feels natural, even for absolute beginners.

First of all, real-time preview shows changes immediately without breaking anything or causing errors.

You get layout settings, header options, footer configurations, and sidebar changes that work intuitively. Additionally, you can use the product card controls to customize the WooCommerce ads without touching the code.

Botiga appearance widgets

I like how the modular system prevents beginners from being overwhelmed with too many choices at once.

Page builder integration

As mentioned, Botiga works well with popular page builders that most people already know.

The Gutenberg integration feels native with custom Botiga blocks, making it easy to create different sections of the page.

Additionally, Elementor users get additional widgets that work automatically when they enable “Page Builder Mode”.

Botiga page creation mode

Both page builders work flawlessly with Botiga’s visual customization tools, so there’s no learning curve required.

Your header is the first thing customers see when they visit your store. Therefore, it needs to look professional and guide them where they need to go.

To help you with this, the drag-and-drop header builder makes customization incredibly easy for absolute beginners. The visual builder shows exactly what your header looks like as you make changes.

You get an intuitive visual interface with pre-built elements ready to use. And up to 3 rows with customizable columns give you unlimited flexibility without complexity.

Element styling includes custom settings for logos, navigation, social media, and contact information. The best part is that the responsive settings ensure everything automatically looks perfect on mobile and tablet devices.

Botiga header and footer builder for mobile view

I used this to create several header variants in just a few minutes without any programming knowledge.

At the same time, footer customization follows the same intuitive approach as the header builder.

You control the layout structure, design options and responsive behavior without requiring any technical knowledge.

Menu and widget customization

I was happy to learn that menu customization perfectly supports both mega menus and simple navigation.

Mega menus allow you to display multiple categories and subcategories in large drop-down areas so customers can quickly find products.

While easy navigation with simple drop-down menus provides clarity, they are perfect for smaller product catalogs.

So Botiga helps you create horizontal and vertical mega menus that work with unlimited submenus and styling options.

Additionally, you can easily add labels and badges to improve the visual identification of specific menu items. You can still access custom styles, giving you complete control over the menu’s appearance and behavior.

This means that the menu system works perfectly even for absolute WordPress beginners.

Gallery of Botiga Trust Badges

I particularly like how widget areas allow for flexible placement of content throughout your website.

This works well with the strategic positioning of the sidebar, which can be implemented across the site using the drag-and-drop builder.

You can add custom sidebars to support unlimited content with viewing conditions based on user preferences. Additionally, you can display different sidebars depending on the user role or login status.

Botiga sidebar content

And of course, the mobile-optimized menu experience ensures perfect smartphone navigation. Responsive navigation automatically adapts to mobile devices without the need for additional configuration.

Design and visual appeal – Why Botiga actually sells products

As mentioned, when testing Botiga for this review, I quickly noticed how clean everything looked.

This is not another cluttered theme that tries to show off all the features. Instead, you get a modern, professional theme that actually helps sell products.

Premium design that converts

The overall design quality looks premium without being flashy or overwhelming. This means the clear layout fits perfectly with your brand instead of contradicting it.

This smart design helps customers easily find what they’re looking for and encourages them to buy.

The theme has an amazing layout variety that covers every business type imaginable. You get three premium website layout options including padded, boxed, and flowing designs.

Additionally, product layouts offer multiple customizable card styles for different industries.

Botiga layout

Additionally, blog layouts include 6 different archive styles with 1, 2, and 3 column options. For even more design flexibility, Gallery Layouts offer seven professionally designed options, including sliders and carousels.

Conversion-focused visual hierarchy

In line with the professional theme approach, Botiga has a strategic use of white space to prevent visitors from being overwhelmed with too much information.

This works well when thoughtful placement of calls to action increases sales without seeming pushy or aggressive.

Botiga call to action

This allows users to naturally navigate clearly from discovery to purchase. This conversion-focused design ensures the best user experience throughout the journey.

Performance and speed – the numbers that actually matter for sales

I ran Botiga through every speed testing tool available to get real numbers. The results absolutely blew me away compared to other eCommerce themes. This is exactly what happened when I tested the performance extensively.

Speed test results

For speed tests I used GTmetrix because it offers the most comprehensive analysis of website performance.

I trust this online website speed testing tool because it combines data from Google Lighthouse and real browser tests.

This will give you accurate results that match what your actual customers experience when they visit your store.

GTmetrix consistently gave Botiga a 92-96% performance rating during my multi-site testing. Additionally, it received an “A” grade for performance and structure in all of my test stores.

Load times remained incredibly fast at a consistent 1.2 seconds, while page sizes remained incredibly small at just 44.3 KB overall for most pages.

botiga gtmetrix speed test

Because of this small footprint, your store will load for customers almost instantly.

These GTmetrix results make Botiga one of the fastest eCommerce themes available. Most themes struggle to achieve even 80% performance on GTmetrix.

With an average score of 94%, Botiga significantly outperforms themes that cost twice as much money. The combination of fast loading and perfect web vitals results in better eCommerce SEO rankings and happier customers.

Botiga SEO optimization

Mobile performance analysis

As expected, mobile performance delivered solid results, although obviously slightly worse than desktop performance. The mobile site size was increased but remained appropriate for mobile phones.

Mobile Largest Contentful Paint took less than 2 seconds on average, which is perfectly in line with Google’s recommendations. These mobile results put Botiga in the top 5 fastest themes available.

Built-in SEO and performance features

What really impressed me about Botiga’s performance goes far beyond just its loading speed. The theme includes built-in SEO features that work automatically without the need for the best SEO plugins.

This means you’ll save money while getting better search engine visibility right out of the box.

Structured data implementation helps search engines understand your content much better. Additionally, it automatically generates SEO-friendly URLs for all pages and products without any setup required.

Additionally, proper handling of meta tags ensures that search engines can index everything correctly from day one.

Botiga metadata

All of this is directly related to Core Web Vitals optimization, which helps your website rank higher in search results. Those fast load times we talked about earlier will directly benefit your SEO ranking on Google.

Additionally, the clean HTML structure makes it much easier for search engines to crawl and index your website.

The image optimization also works smoothly in the background.

First of all, native lazy loading automatically reduces bandwidth usage for images across your website.

Additionally, the design structure works perfectly with popular image compression plugins such as Smush to help you convert images to WebP.

If you don’t want to use this manual process, it also supports image conversion to modern formats like WebP via plugins without the need for additional configuration.

Additionally, Botiga integrates brilliantly with major caching plugins for even better performance. WP Rocket strongly recommends Botiga and can provide an additional 450ms speed improvement.

While W3 Total Cache, WP-Optimize and LiteSpeed Cache all work perfectly with the theme.

Additionally, CDN compatibility means you can use any popular content delivery network solution without compatibility issues.

Botiga eCommerce features

WooCommerce integration with Botiga goes far beyond basic theme compatibility. I tested every single eCommerce feature to find out what actually helps sell products.

The results convinced me that this theme was created by people who know about shopping. Here are the standout features that significantly increased my conversion rates.

Mobile design that actually works

Most themes claim to be mobile responsive but fail when real customers shop. As mentioned earlier, Botiga actually offers a premium mobile shopping experience that converts to customers.

The quality of the mobile design fits perfectly with the desktop without feeling cramped or cluttered. Each element adapts beautifully to different screen sizes and device orientations.

Text remains readable without zooming, while images appear crisp and clear. The best part is that product galleries work smoothly with touch gestures that feel natural.

Like desktop, Botiga also has three dedicated mobile header layouts designed specifically for smartphone shopping.

The off-canvas navigation system glides smoothly, without lags or glitches. I like how the touch-friendly key size ensures customers can type accurately without frustration.

Canvas botiga

Product quick view converting browsers

The product quick view became my favorite feature during testing. This allows customers to preview product details without ever leaving the main product page.

The popup immediately displays product images, descriptions, prices, and add to cart buttons. As a result, the product quick view significantly reduces friction in the purchasing process for impatient buyers.

Botiga product quick view

This feature increases engagement and ensures that users stay on your website longer, which is also an important SEO requirement for ranking.

Live Ajax search with intelligent results

Live Ajax search with SKU support impressed even my most tech-savvy customers. Customers receive instant search results as they type, without the need to reload the page.

Search includes product names, descriptions, categories and even SKU numbers.

Botiga real-time search frontend feature

This will display product images and prices in search results to make decision-making easier. This intelligent search feature helps customers quickly find exactly what they are looking for.

Seamless blog integration

The blog integration works seamlessly with your eCommerce functionality, without conflicts or problems. Content marketing features help increase traffic and improve SEO rankings.

This way, you can use your blog posts to promote products in a natural way without being too sales-oriented.

Botiga blog integration

You get 6 different blog layout options to suit your store design, ensuring you can create a unique structure specifically for your eCommerce store.

After discussing the most important Botiga features, let’s briefly go through the rest.

  • Fly-Out Mini Cart Experience: The fold-out mini shopping cart provides instant access to the contents of the shopping cart. Customers can review items, adjust quantities and checkout instantly. The mini shopping cart can be easily pulled out without affecting the shopping experience. Cart updates are instant, without the need for page refreshes or additional clicks.
  • Customizable product cards: Customizing product cards gives you complete control over how products are displayed. You can customize colors, fonts, spacing, and corner radius for product cards. Multiple card styles work perfectly for different industries and product types. The cards automatically adapt perfectly to the color scheme and typography you choose.
  • Multiple Checkout Styles:
  • Shopping cart and checkout experiences offer multiple professional styling options. One feature I really like is the multi-step checkout, which reduces abandonment by breaking the process down into manageable steps. Additionally, Shopify-style checkout provides a familiar shopping experience for most online shoppers. This one-page checkout is perfect for customers who prefer speed over detailed steps.

Features found only in Botiga Pro

The features discussed above are available in both the free and premium versions of Botiga. What do you actually get when you upgrade to the Pro version?

Let’s list the unique features of Botiga Premium.

  • Advanced product filtering: Product filter functions in the Pro version make large inventories manageable. Customers can filter by category, size, color, brand and price range. The best part is that filtering works instantly, without the need for page reloads or long load times. This means that the filter interface remains clear and intuitive, even with many options.
  • Customer wish list functionality: The Wishlist feature allows customers to save products to consider for later purchase. It integrates perfectly with user accounts and guest browsing, improving checkout frequency. In addition, customers can share wish lists or easily use them for comparison shopping. On your site, wish list data helps you understand customer preferences and popular products.
  • Visual product variants: With this feature, color and size variation patterns replace boring drop-down menus with visual options. Customers see actual colors and size options before making a purchasing decision. Variation patterns reduce returns and significantly improve customer satisfaction throughout the entire process. As with everything Botiga has to offer, the swatches integrate perfectly into the product quick view and main product pages.

Documentation and support

Botiga’s documentation quality impressed me more than most premium themes.

I spent hours going through the guides and tutorials available and found them incredibly well organized and easy to use.

The search function works exactly as expected. All you have to do is enter what you’re looking for and you’ll find answers instantly.

This saved me a lot of time when I needed specific information about customization options.

In addition, you get direct access to the documentation of all their topics including SydneyBotiga and Merchant. This means you don’t have to search around to find the right support area.

In this case, simply select the Botiga tab to access the documentation.

Athemes documentation

Navigation is very easy thanks to the clearly marked categories in the left sidebar.

You can easily browse through different sections like Getting Started, General Topics, WooCommerce Features, and Header Customization.

Botiga documentation

What really impressed me was the documentation’s connection to real pro features. You can view specific instructions for creating custom templates such as account pages, shopping cart templates, and checkout pages.

I also appreciate the detailed troubleshooting resources that provide solutions to common problems that beginners actually face. This will help you solve many of the problems you face on your own.

If the documentation does not help with your specific problem, you can contact support.

However, please note that support is only available for Pro users through the aThemes support system.

The support team uses a ticket-based email system through which you submit requests. The support team will get back to you within an average response time of 8 hours. However, many people report faster response times.

Support also includes direct access to the development team who can provide specific solutions to Pro features and customization issues.

Free version users rely on WordPress.org’s community forums for help, resulting in slower responses and community-driven solutions instead of official developer support.

Pros and Cons of Botiga – The Honest Breakdown

No WordPress theme is perfect and Botiga is no exception. Here’s what worked great and what drove me slightly crazy.

What I loved about Botiga (Benefits)

  • Lightning-fast performance – Consistently achieved 94% GTmetrix results without the need for optimization plugins
  • Beginner-friendly setup – One-click demo imports got my shop up and running professionally in just a few minutes
  • Excellent mobile shopping – Touch-optimized experience that actually converts phone buyers into buyers
  • Conversion-oriented features – The product quick view and Ajax search significantly increased my engagement rates

What could be better (disadvantages)

  • Limited design flexibility – Focuses specifically on eCommerce rather than general website building needs
  • Learning curve for beginners – Extensive customization options can overwhelm people who expect easy choices

This marks the end of my Botiga review. I hope this helps you choose the eCommerce theme for your online store.

If that’s not the case, here are some alternatives you can check out.

Best Botiga Alternatives

I built identical stores with Botiga compared to its biggest competitors to see real differences. Here’s what actually happened when I tested conversion rates and user experience.

Botiga vs. Thrive Theme Builder – The Conversion Battle

Thrivethemes homepage

Thrive Theme Builder costs $79 per year and excels at creating high-converting landing pages and detailed sales funnels.

You can increase buyer urgency with countdown timers and popups for product launches or special campaigns. Thrive Theme Builder is great if you need aggressive sales tactics for limited-time offers.

Both meet different needs well. Thrive Theme Builder excels in marketing campaigns and sales funnels.

On the other hand, Botiga works better for trustworthy online stores where subtle selling is superior to aggressive tactics. It depends on what type of business you are building.

Free theme version: NO

Prices: $79 per year or $239 per year for the entire Thrive Suite.

Get started with Thrive Theme Builder here.

Botiga vs. SeedProd – Landing Page Showdown

Seedprod homepage

Seed Prod excels at creating beautiful landing pages with its drag-and-drop builder. Therefore, it works really well for one-page marketing campaigns and lead capture forms.

It shines for promotional websites, coming soon pages, and sales funnels with beautiful templates and conversion-focused elements.

SeedProd’s strength lies in its ability to create pixel-perfect landing pages without any programming knowledge. Their library of templates covers every marketing scenario imaginable.

Additionally, this landing page builder also includes advanced A/B testing, email integrations, and detailed analytics tracking to optimize conversion rates.

SeedProd wins for standalone landing pages and marketing campaigns. Botiga excels at complete online stores where e-commerce integration and performance optimization are most important.

Free theme version: Yes

Prices: Starting at $39.50 per year.

Botiga vs. Astra – Compromises on multi-purpose flexibility

Astra homepage

Astra offers incredible flexibility with over 600 starter templates that cover every industry imaginable. This ensures that you can find something suitable for almost any company or industry.

This versatile theme is great for agencies that create diverse websites, from portfolios to company pages to blogs.

This universal strength means you get maximum flexibility for any project type. Additionally, Astra’s active community and extensive documentation make it easy to find help when you need it.

The lightweight code and excellent performance optimization make Astra a favorite among developers. The theme integrates seamlessly with all major page builders and offers extensive customization options.

When it comes to building eCommerce stores, conversion-focused design includes features like product quick view and wish list functionality built right in.

Additionally, mobile designs focus on guiding customers from browsing to purchasing in a natural way and without confusion.

Astra wins for agencies that need maximum flexibility in different projects. Botiga, on the other hand, is characterized by dedicated online stores where e-commerce specialization streamlines everything.

Free theme version: Yes

Prices: Starts at $69 per year

Start here with Astra.

Quick mentions of competitors

  • GeneratePress: This premium theme offers exceptional performance for $59 for 500 websites per year. The ultralight approach beats Botiga in terms of speed, but lacks special features. Choose GeneratePress for developer-focused projects that prioritize custom code over built-in functionality.
  • OceanWP: This theme offers the most generous free version with rich WooCommerce features. The $35 starter plan offers great value but a less sophisticated design. But they also offer custom eCommerce add-ons that start at $39 and offer WooCommerce features for better store performance. OceanWP is better suited for budget-conscious users who need features out of the box.

When to choose each option

Choose Botiga when building dedicated WooCommerce stores where conversion optimization is most important. The special features and clean design justify a higher price for serious sales.

In addition, performance optimization and mobile experience are particularly notable for smartphone shopping.

Choose alternatives when building different website types that go beyond pure eCommerce functionality.

  • Astra’s variety of templates is suitable for agencies building different industries/GeneratePress appeals.
  • Seed Prod works for landing page specialists integrating separate e-commerce solutions.

Well done! We have come to the end of our Botiga review. If something is unclear, check out the frequently asked questions below.

FAQs: Botiga Review, is this the best eCommerce theme?

Will Botiga work with my existing one? E-commerce Hosting provider?

Yes, Botiga works with any hosting that supports WordPress 5.4 and PHP 7.4. I have successfully tested it on SiteGround, Bluehost and Hostinger without any problems. Shared hosting plans handle Botiga perfectly as it is lightweight and optimized.

Do I need programming knowledge to customize Botiga?

Absolutely not. The WordPress Customizer processes all design changes with real-time preview. The drag-and-drop header and footer builders work visually without any code. I’ve seen complete beginners build professional shops in under 2 hours.

Can I migrate to Botiga from another theme without losing content?

Your content remains safe when changing themes because WordPress stores it separately. After activation, you will need to reconfigure the theme settings and menus. The demo importer can provide a new starting point if needed. However, I always recommend a reliable backup plugin for additional protection.

Will my website become slower if I add a lot of products?

Not at all. Botiga’s performance optimization handles large product catalogs beautifully and without speed issues. I tested shops with more than 500 products and consistently maintained loading times of 2 seconds. The good thing is that with Ajax search and filtering, customers can easily navigate through large inventory even with a large catalog.

What happens if I cancel my Botiga Pro subscription?

Your website will still work, but pro features like advanced filtering will disappear. However, you will continue to have access during your paid period even after cancellation. The free version still works with all basic functions.

Does Botiga work well for non-English websites?

Yes, Botiga offers full translation readiness and works perfectly with WPML. I have built businesses in Spanish, French and German without any problems. Additionally, right-to-left languages such as Arabic are displayed correctly with proper plugin support.

How often does aThemes Botiga update?

Updates occur regularly with WordPress compatibility and new features are added frequently. I’ve seen 4-6 updates per year, regularly fixing bugs and making improvements. Active development ensures long-term compatibility and security patches.

Can I use Botiga for service-based businesses instead of products?

Yes, you can. I have created successful booking and payment service websites using WooCommerce. The clear design is perfect for consultants, agencies and professionals. Additionally, blog integration naturally helps with content marketing and building authority.

Final Verdict – Should I Choose Botiga Theme?

After weeks of intensive testing, I can give you my honest verdict. Botiga stands out as a specialized eCommerce theme, but it’s not suitable for everyone.

Choose Botiga if you want to build a dedicated online store and get actual conversions.

The special WooCommerce features, like product quick view, increase sales, while the mobile performance outperforms every competitor I tested.

And of course what I like best about Botiga: The minimalist design immediately positions your company as premium.

But remember that this WooCommerce theme is specifically focused on selling products and not general websites.

So if you are not building an online store, you can consider: Sydney, a more flexible, general-purpose theme created by aThemes, the same team behind Botiga.

For a full overview, see my Sydney review.

My advice is: Start with the free Botiga version to test performance first. Most small shops find that it covers everything they need initially.

After that, you can only upgrade to Botiga Pro if you need advanced filtering and wishlist features.

Now if you’re looking for even more theme options, check out the resources below.

These posts will show you not only the best themes in different industries, but also which ones are best suited to your needs. In the end, you can keep your costs down and find a theme that will help you grow your business.
