My top tips to make their effectively in 2025

I started Brauen During my last year at the University of Michigan, while helping students prepare for interviews.

When I asked them how they had been up to date with business news, they all gave similar answers. “I read them Wall Street Journal Because my parents told me. It’s tight. It’s dry. I can’t get through it. “

I was surprised. These were future managing directors who could not combine the content that should inform their career. But this shock triggered an idea: What if I could create something else – something that committed business news and made it easy to digest?

This idea was BrauenA daily newsletter with over four million subscribers. We have expanded beyond General Business News, and spin-off newsletters are devoted to retail, marketing, aspiring technology, finance and much more. In the following I will share this growth journey.

Grow from a PDF to a massive newsletter

I had an idea – creating a product that makes business news fascinating and unforgettable. I decided to test the idea by writing a daily newsletter.

Every morning I spent hours combing through The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Financial TimesAnd The economist Identify the most important stories for business -oriented students. I would then collapse them in 150 to 300 words that were informative and were yet precise.

The answer was immediately.

Although I had no technical infrastructure – I manually converted Word documents into PDFs and they sent them via e -mail – our subscriber base grew again and again.

I knew we had something special because it was painful to get on the list. The students had to send me an e -mail directly by e -mail to add to my Listserv (themarketcorner@umich.edu, if they are curious). Despite this friction, they wanted the newsletter anyway.

Within three months we had 750 subscribers to the Michigan Business School, and this number soon grew to more than 1,500. I…
