Version 4.6 of Double post from Yoast is hereand it’s about making your editing experience in the WordPress block editor more natural and ensuring that Rewrite & Republish works reliably every time you need it.

A more modern editing experience

Everything where you would expect it. Post duplicate controls are now located in the block editor sidebar, right next to WordPress’ own settings, eliminating the need for a long search. If you are still using the classic editor, nothing will change for you.

Buttons that look good. The Copy to New Draft and Rewrite and Republish actions are now properly bordered buttons consistent with the rest of the WordPress interface. Cleaner, clearer and easier to use.

Built for the future. Under the hood, improvements ensure Duplicate Post remains stable and compatible as WordPress evolves, so you don’t have to think about it.

Yoast Duplicate Post has always been about reliability. Although the plugin has served millions of you faithfully since our last release, we are pleased to introduce it to you Version 4.6. This update is packed with long-awaited fixes and thoughtful UI improvements that ensure the plugin remains modern, stable, and ready for the future of WordPress.

More reliable rewrite and republish workflows

Your posts won’t stick. If something goes wrong during the process, such as a redirect breaking, the plugin now handles it properly and cleans up automatically. Your content never gets stuck.

Attachments copied completely. All attachment metadata, including captions and descriptions, are retained in full when you duplicate a post. Nothing is left behind.

International and security improvements

The right words, in your language. Buttons and hints in the block editor are now correctly translated in all languages without the behind-the-scenes errors that occurred in some regions.

Consistent styling, always. The buttons will display correctly regardless of your admin configuration, even if the WordPress admin bar is disabled.

Version 4.6 is now available. As always, we recommend testing in a staging environment before updating your live site.
