Let’s make more money.
Am I wrong or do I feel like LGBTQ people are constantly struggling to make more money?
That’s why we believe becoming an entrepreneur will benefit both you and our LGBTQ community. Let’s make more money together and strengthen our queer community. The best place to start is to find out how much you currently earn by filling out your information and adding it up That’s right, MonYour income with the Budget Buster Bundle.
Make more money and become more influential.
There are two reasons why you should become an entrepreneur if you are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or other. The first reason is that about a third of first-generation millionaires are entrepreneurs. So if you weren’t born with money or married, the best way to make more money and achieve millionaire status is to become an entrepreneur.
The second reason to become an entrepreneur and make more money is altruistic. We need more queer leaders in both the private and public sectors. That leader is you! Working for someone else gives us a sense of security, a regular paycheck, health and life insurance, and other benefits. But do safety and security play a big or small role? How much do you really earn working for someone else? Find out via CoCompleting the Budget Buster bundle.
How much do you give up on pursuing someone else’s dreams in exchange for that safety and security?
We used to have a $51,000 deficit, now we have a $700,000 surplus. When we started Debt Free Guys™ and Queer money™, our goal was to build a business so that we could – from anywhere in the world – help other LGBTQ people become financially free and make more money for our own financial freedom.
We did that. The same tools that keep us in touch with high school friends and celebrities are the same tools and resources we’ve used to grow our business. You have access to the same tools.
1. Watch YouTube
YouTube isn’t just for music videos and beauty vloggers. YouTube is for ME: motivation and education.
Motivational videos keep us motivated. Starting your own business is an emotional roller coaster and negativity is contagious. As Willie Nelson said, “Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you will get positive results.” And we are always looking for positive results.
We also used YouTube as teachers. It taught us something Creating and managing our revenue-generating bloghow to manage social media so they don’t manage us and video editing to improve our videos. We’ve spent hours studying the style, pace, and delivery of our favorite speakers to improve our public speaking.
2. Listen to podcasts
Free podcasts complement YouTube and give us access to today’s leading minds. Listening to podcasts while working, driving or exercising challenges our current mindsets and helps us develop new thoughts and ideas to become better and entrepreneurs.
Want to know what Mark Zuckerberg is planning next for Facebook? Want to know what Tim Gunn thinks about today’s fashion? Want to hear what world leaders think about today’s current events? Podcasts are your answer.
One of Our favorite podcast for the queer community is Queer money™but I digress. We also like Out Entrepreneur.
3. Do you want to make more money? There’s an app for that.
The gig economy isn’t just great because it makes it easier to become an entrepreneur. We love the gig economy because it creates mic-dropping technology. It gave us Uber and Lyft, which increased rolling. Our Amazon delivery takes 36 hours to wait.
Ten years ago, a small company called Apple invented something called the iPhone. This device fit in a pocket and played music, took calls, and texted, and the world loved it.
Apple knew that the best part of its invention was “app technology.” Now anyone could develop life-enhancing technologies for “smart” phones.
Can’t afford a personal coach? There’s an app for that. Do you want to get back in shape? To do this, download an app. You need to switch off and meditate, connect to an app. Do you need to eat better? Use an app.
4. Free books
Did you know that the average millionaire reads two books a month? Books are not new, but book accessibility is. Over a million digital books are downloaded every day on Amazon alone. There are so many free books on Amazon and at your local library that you’ll never have to buy a book again.
Don’t just get your books from the bestseller lists. Independent books are now as good or better than traditionally published books. Read books that motivate and inspire you. Learn more about the industry you want to make more money in. Learn from those who came before you.
5. Join LinkedIn and Facebook groups
One of the many benefits of the gig economy is that you can find LGBTQ-related and supportive groups virtually. Connecting virtually with such business partners can be time and cost effective.
Join entrepreneurial and business groups, as well as groups whose members can be good business partners and customers, such as individuals Queer money™ Facebook group. or the LGBTQ business professional group Outburo on LinkedIn. Such groups are a two-way street. Before attempting to do business within these groups, you should engage with the other members and help them build a relationship.
6. Join your local LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce
Virtual contact with colleagues and customers, whether gay, heterosexual or not, is excellent. Don’t forego engaging with your local queer community and business leaders in real life, as time-consuming and costly as it may be. Join your local LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce for two reasons.
The first is to engage with local LGBTQ stakeholders and business partners. There’s a philosophy that says every successful business needs 1,000 raving fans, people who will be your most important customers and advocates. The better you connect with your local community, the faster you’ll reach your 1,000 passionate fans.
Secondly, local chambers of commerce offer a wealth of knowledge and experience. Whether the other members are in the same industry or not, they are useful resources for sharing ideas and getting advice on overcoming challenges.
7. Join the NGLCC
When you join a chamber, you are also joining the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC). Most local LGBTQ chambers of commerce are affiliated with the NGLCC. When you join your local chamber, you will receive a discount on your national membership if your local chamber is an NGLCC affiliate.
