But should rankings in Google increase for this AI translated content? In my post I explain the Reddit increase in the countries, the translated content, the well -ranked, which was Google’s attitude via machine translation content and much more.
Update: April 2, 2025
Based on the Hreflang setup for some URLs, Reddit translates some content via AI into up to 22 different languages. You can Learn more below.

The March 2025 core update Completed this morning and I shared the overvoltages and drops that I see in the industries. There were some major fluctuations with this update about websites, industries and countries. I will share more over the update in the coming weeks after stopping the dust.
Yesterday Lily Ray shared about forums that fall overall and I saw this trend. And these are great news when you consider how many forums rose in autumn 2023 with the update “hidden gemstones”. Not all forums fall, but some of them soak up with this update. And that made me name this as “Hiding Gems” update compared to “Hidden Gems” update.
And when you talk about user-generated content (UGC), it is to overlook the largest and most visible of everyone too overlooked. Reddit. Yes, it looks like Reddit is going to rise again with the March Core Update. I know that this is hard to believe because it has shot up in visibility since autumn 2023, but I see more in the countries.
And when I take a closer look at the climb, I see more From an increase in certainly Countries for Reddit that prompted me to check the content that increases in ranking lists. Based on the review of this content, I saw many of the AI translations of Reddit in the mix. And it is Millions by translated URLS ranking in Google for certain countries.
For example in France:

And here is the translated content with the parameter TL = FR, which is with the original content. According to what Reddit explained, it is a machine content.

As a reminder, Reddit Explained last year That the AI translation (machine translation) would begin to translate content into several other languages. They started with French, but have now expanded to a number of other languages. In fact, Reddit explained in her quarterly quarterly result of quarter of 2024 Spend millions of dollars per quarter on machine translation. Here is more from the article:

In addition, they said that the effects were dramatic and even mention that this content was indicated by Google.

Note that Google has always said that the automatic translation of content with machine translation is not okay. People should be involved in the translation to ensure that the content is not of low quality. The translated content is okay, but automatically translated content is not okay (SEO-proof). You can see Google Abuse of scaled content Spam guideline below, where it mentions automatic content.

Can Reddit do what others can’t do?
When the French translations began last year, I said X that other websites received manual actions for pumping tons of car translations on their websites (if these automatic translations can be indexed). I have achieved companies in the past after receiving manual actions in the past. In addition, some of the spam updates that are algorithmic were hit. Regardless of this, most websites cannot get away with mass transmission content via AI (or machine translation tools) without being hammered by Google.
But Reddit rises and spoke across countries and spoke. Here is my tweet from the last May when I read car translations about Reddid’s car translations.
Before you run this out and check this, remember that Reddit provides a robots.txt especially for Google and other search engines so that you cannot see the instructions without using a tool like the Rich result test. Instead, you will not allow a blanket (which in turn is not really what Google sees). If you use the rich results test, you can find that you explicitly allow the crawling of these translated URLs via allowance in the Robots.txt file.

In the following you can see the gain in visibility in several countries. I will only provide a few countries, but you can check the rest alone. I also provided an example -URL among the graphics of each country so that you can see what this content looks like. I filtered the reporting according to URLS with the TL = parameter set for each language. Take a look at the increases below …

Hreflang reveals AI translations for many countries:
I was curious how many languages Reddit translated into content via AI, so I checked the Hreflang setup twice on some pages. I see how Reddit translates content in up to 22 languages for content. The amount of AI translated content is even higher than I was originally. I don’t know how much content is translated into each of these languages, but it could be a ton.
For example, you can see the Hreflang tags when testing URLs about the Rich result. There are more than the screenshot shows:

Can Reddit do what other websites cannot do?
I will keep an eye on this to see how this translated content runs over time. Note that the March -Kern -Update was officially completed this morning (March 27th), so that the content was going well based on the update. I will update this post when something new is added.
